Trail Details:

After leaving the parking lot we will follow short road to the signed junction, where we will head left and start the hike on Eagle Springs Road. Here we will see beautiful oak woodlands and pass through chaparral country (and maybe spot a deer or two). This part of the trail slowly gains about 800 feet in elevation on the way to Eagle Rock. After about 2 miles we will reach a junction and bear left of Eagle Springs Road on to Eagle Rock. A short detour will take us to the top of the rock for a spectacular view of the Santa Monica Mountains and even the Pacific Ocean on a clear day. To complete the loop we will get back on Eagle Springs Road and take the Musch Trail, a three mile stroll passing through shady woodland and meadow, back to the trailhead and finally returning to the parking lot.
