Catch Jrue Holiday in action as we showcase a new video from his camp last year at Shepherd Sports and dive deeper into this up and coming NBA star.

Jrue Holiday is currently a starting point guard in the NBA for the Philadelphia 76ers. The 21-year-old Mission Hills native and the son of Sean and Toya, played his high school basketball at Campbell Hall in North Hollywood. While there, Jrue played at the varsity level for all four years. Currently, he is the only high school player in California to win three state championships and as a senior, Jrue averaged 26 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists a game and was named the 2008 Gatorade national player of the year.

After finishing high school, Jrue played his college ball at UCLA. He averaged 9 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds in his lone season as a Bruin. He then entered the 2009 NBA draft and was drafted 17th overall by the 76ers. He played in 73 games during his rookie campaign and started 51 of those games. Jrue averaged 8 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds in his first year as his team finished 27-55. However, as a full time starter in his second season, Jrue averaged 14 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds as he led his Philadelphia team to a 41-41 record and a postseason match-up with the Miami Heat.

Jrue’s brother Justin played college basketball at the University of Washington. As a senior, he was named the Pac-10 defensive player of the year and averaged 11 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Jrue’s dad Sean has helped mold Jrue and Justin’s game throughout their careers. His mom Toya is currently the head basketball coach for the girl’s varsity team at Campbell Hall as well as the ninth grade dean and the athletic director for the school. His younger sister Lauren is a sophomore who plays for Toya on the varsity team.  Jrue exclaimed that she is the most athletic member of the family. He also has a younger brother Aaron who starts at Campbell Hall in the fall and is looking to follow in his brother’s footsteps.
